TEXT TO SCREEN with Award Winning Actor/On-Set Coach/Intimacy Coordinator EVE MOREY and Special Industry Guest, Leading Feature Film and Prime-Time Television Casting Director, David Newman (McSweeney Newman Casting, Sydney).
6 Week Program
Mondays I 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Commencing February 12, 2024
After graduating from NIDA in 2006, Eve Morey has worked consistently as an actor on stage and screen for the past 17 years, although she began her career in children’s television nearly 25 years ago. Eve is probably most recognised for her role as Sonya Rebecchi on the long-running serial drama, Neighbours. During her nearly a decade on the show, Eve was an obvious stand-out in terms of performance; she brought a rare quality to the show that ultimately earned her a Silver Logie Nomination for Best Actress and a Gold Logie Nomination in 2019. That same year, Eve’s heartbreaking farewell episode was nominated for Most Outstanding Drama Series – a category that no other ‘soap’ had been recognised in ever before. Eve’s more recent acting credits include Mystery Road (S2), Total Control (S2) and More Than This, as well as the Sundance award-winning (and 9-Time 2024 AACTA Nominated) feature film, Shayda.
In early 2019, Eve began to pursue her passion for supporting actors in performance through the role of Acting Coach/Dramaturg, before heading to the UK later that year to undertake Intimacy Coordinator training with Intimacy On-Set founder and IC pioneer, Ita O’Brien (Normal People, I May Destroy You and Sex Education). As an IC, Eve has supported various screen productions including the feature film, Shayda, as well as numerous television productions for NBC Universal, Netflix, Paramount + and Fremantle Media, including La Brea, Surviving Summer (S2), Five Bedrooms, Lie with Me and Neighbours to name a few.
As a dramaturg/acting coach, Eve not only supported Neighbours but returned to her roots in children’s TV with ABC’s, Turn Up the Volume. She has just completed work on Network 10’s new drama, Paper Dolls, as well as Foxtel Group’s new mystery thriller, High Country. Eve is now one of Australia’s most in-demand acting coaches and intimacy coordinators – her passion for storytelling and her commitment to providing a safe space for actors to work in is a joy to watch. Eve is also the co-founder of Venn: a production company, consultancy and collective of practitioners, who bring together proven processes and creative excellence to elevate progressive organisations, enrich creative ideas and facilitate responsible storytelling.

Text to Screen-Test program has been meticulously shaped to guide and encourage students to work on their specific areas requiring development, whilst bringing forth their strengths when screen-testing for prime-time drama. Eve will work with actors both individually and as a company, assisting students to POP from moment one of an audition. Scenes are assigned to students throughout the term block, along with prep work for each session. For actors who participated in previous terms, they have another opportunity to work in this ongoing manner with our outstanding trainers & special guests. Continuing across the terms ensures stability in training & rehearsal, and consistency in terms of the guidance & feedback offered, with scenes selected to target specific areas of weakness and strength. The studio also welcomes actors to the program who have not participated in previous terms as they can begin this process, leading to a stronger understanding of the requirements of acting for camera and preparing to screen-test.
On the last week of term, students will screen-test for David Newman from McSweeney Newman Casting and Founding Artistic Director of Film & Television Studio International/ CEO of top tier talent agency McMahon Management, Craig McMahon.
***In addition to your 6-Week Program, Leading International Casting Director David Rapaport will also join us live from Hollywood for an industry Q&A on what’s coming up in 2024 Pilot Season.
