Jane has been a Casting Director for over 25 years, having worked on feature films, limited run series and episode TV series. She has collaborated with all television networks as well as with leading producers, directors and production companies in Australia and overseas.
Renowned across the film and television industry for her ability to discover new talent, Jane’s eye for on-screen potential has seen her create award-winning casts that merge new and exciting Australian talent with international actors.
Jane has championed many actors in the early stages of their careers including discovering Kodi Smit McPhee, Angourie Rice, Julian Dennison, Odessa Young, Sam Corlett, Toby Wallace, Ed Oxenbold, and Morgan Davies.

Jane is the Casting Director of Tony Ayres‘ hugely successful Australian Drama Series THE SURVIVORS, which has become a global sensation reaching #2 on the worldwide charts with an astounding 44.6 million hours viewed. In 2025, she cast the Foxtel/BINGE drama The Last Anniversary, based on the bestselling novel by Liane Moriarty and produced by Nicole Kidman. In 2024, she was casting consultant on Memoir of a Snail, a beautiful stop-motion animated film by Adam Elliot featuring Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jacki Weaver, and Nick Cave. She also cast Strife (Seasons 1 and 2), a sharp, funny series starring Asher Keddie as a media entrepreneur navigating life and chaos in the digital age. Across all of these, Jane has a knack for assembling powerful casts that bring out the heart and soul of every story.
Over the years, Jane’s had her hand in some of Australia’s most memorable screen stories. She cast both The Dry and its 2024 sequel Force of Nature: The Dry 2, starring Eric Bana, and helped bring to life heartfelt films like Paper Planes, Looking for Grace, Sweet As, and H Is for Happiness. Her film credits also include more serious fare like Balibo, Gallipoli, The Rooster (starring Full-time Graduate Phoenix Raei and Hugo Weaving), and the star-studded anthology The Turning, which featured big names like Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, and Rose Byrne. Whether it’s a kids’ adventure or a political drama, she always finds the right mix of talent to make the story sing.
Jane’s TV work is just as impressive. She cast the international Netflix hit Clickbait, Television Series Nine Perfect Strangers (starring Nicole Kidman), Mini-Series The Clearing, the Amazon series Hunters, and Aussie favourites like Nowhere Boys (across multiple seasons), Wake in Fright, The Warriors, and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. This 6-Week Workshop Series (6 x 3-hour sessions) providing actors with advanced acting technique in a practical, hands-on masterclass format. In Studio /On Camera, followed by a Screen-Testing Session in studio with Top-Tier Casting Director JANE NORRIS.

Whether you are new to the industry or feel stuck as a performing artist, this practical, hands-on program could be a major key element to assist you in gaining traction. In your first week, you will be joined by Artistic Director and Artist Manager Craig McMahon who will commence the scene selection process with you, ensuring you select the best possible scene to showcase your work in Week 6 with Casting Director Jane Norris. Then enjoy 4 engaging weeks prepping your scene(s) with Award Winning Actor Kestie Morassi, followed by an in-person meet and greet and interactive performance afternoon (on-camera) with Jane Norris, one of Australia’s most respected Casting Directors, known for her massive body of work in Film and Award-Winning Prime-Time Television. Students will receive direction and feedback on their work from Jane, providing a well-rounded self-taping experience.

Your Trainer:
KESTIE MORASSI is one of Australia’s most prolific actors. Her career has seen her work steadily in the Australian Film and Television industry for over 28 years.
Film Credits include Dirty Deeds, Thunderstruck, Strange Bedfellows, The Wedding Party and Wolf Creek, for which she was nominated for an Australian Film Industry Award for Best Supporting Actress. Other accolades include taking home the Best Actress award in at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival for her role in Canne favourite Birthday. She was also nominated for a Critics Circle Award for her breakout role in Dirty Deeds and scored a nomination at the Monte Carlo TV Awards for her role of Nat in Foxtel’s Satisfaction. Her television appearances include Black Snow; Underbelly; Offspring; The Doctor Blake Mysteries; Harrow; Satisfaction, and most recently playing Maggie Astoni in Home and Away.
Kestie brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and empathy to her sessions: beginning with a variety of script analysis techniques and discussion, culminating in creating dynamic scenes from contemporary scripts and encouraging the actors to fully personalise and ground themselves in their characters and to breathe life, originality and absolute authenticity into the text.
