Master Trainer – Laban Technique
Master Trainer // Laban Technique
Anne is a master teacher and multidisciplinary artist dedicated to nurturing performers’ creative authenticity. A Master Trainer in the Laban Technique, she specializes in body-based, embodied approaches to acting that integrate movement, drama, and voice. With degrees in education and choreography, more than 25 years as a freelance artist, and original works created through her company Sirensong Dance and Theatre, Anne brings a deep commitment to presence, artistic integrity, and the performer’s connection to inner life. Her creative practice also includes ongoing songwriting and performance with her collaborator Richard Rolfe in their band The Stream.
Now focused primarily on teaching and coaching, Anne places the body’s intelligence at the center of her work. She has taught extensively at the Victorian College of the Arts, and has led her movement-based improvisation classes for over 15 years. As Drama and Movement Coach for Neighbours, she has supported actors of all ages in character development, emotional connection, physical alignment, and text work, applying Laban principles to craft nuanced, embodied performance. In her private coaching practice, she prepares actors for film, television, and theatre roles with tailored, whole-body, Laban-informed training.
